The counseling and therapeutic process allows you to participate in opening up to self-discovery and relational understanding. Although that process can feel uncomfortable, River Street Counseling Services, PLLC is committed to honoring your needs and to assisting you in an empathic, compassionate, and embodied manner.
Using a river as a metaphor for a person’s experience, Dana (2020) notes:
People enter downstream, and they see thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and sensory information; they assume those parts convey a person’s full story. Yet to truly understand a person’s story, one would have to go back upstream to the source of the river.
